Scholarship Information

Ohio Young Birders Club scholarships are to help young people who are interested in birds to attend summer camps, workshops, classes, training programs, conventions, and other bird-related activities. Funds for these scholarships come from our partners, private donations, and proceeds from special fundraising events. Applicants must be current OYBC members between the ages of 12 - 18.

Black Swamp Bird Observatory Youth Program Policy
BSBO’s scholarship program seeks to ensure that all OYBC members have access to camps and events that provide a safe and healthy environment for youth participants.
To meet scholarship eligibility guidelines a camp or event must comply with the following policies and guidelines:
• All youth program instructors and volunteers working with minors must undergo a background check.
• Programs must adhere to all state youth camp requirements and laws regarding staff and volunteers interacting with minors.
• No instructor or volunteer may use, possess, sell or distribute alcohol, tobacco products or other controlled substances, during camp sessions or events when minors are in their care.
