January 3, 2026 - MOTUS tagging event - Grange Insurance Audubon Center - 7:00am - 10:00am

Fiona McCarthy, our Stewardship Engagement Coordinator, is offering to host OYBC for a Motus tagging observation! Timing subject to change, but currently 7:00AM - 10:00AM on January 3rd. To date we have been working hard at growing our membership by offering open field trips. However, we are now returning to our focus of student-led trips, which are for members only. The Ohio Young Birders Club is unique in its focus on student members and growing their leadership skills, bird expertise, and bonding together over a shared love of birds. Adults not wanting to drop students off and leave trip sites are welcome to stay onsite and enjoy their own bird outings in the vicinity, but only student members will be included on official field trips, unless otherwise noted. November 16th, 2:00pm - 5:00 pm Ohio School of Falconry at Camp Mary Orton. Join us for a fun event around the age-old sport of falconry. See birds up close and learn about falconers and the birds they fly.

Saturday October 11 - Prairie Oaks Metropark
Join OYBC Central Chapter for an early morning bird walk at Prairie Ridge Metropark , 8-11am. We will target migrating species like late warblers, sparrows, and waterfowl.

Saturday July 26th - Glacier Ridge Metro Park - 7am-10am

Saturday June 28th - Highbanks Metropark - 8am-11am
Meet at the Big Meadows area
We will be surveying Bluebird nest boxes with a naturalist, followed by a birding hike at Highbanks Metro Park. We will be walking through tall grasses to get to nest boxes so please wear long pants/tick protective gear, and bug spray is recommended. Meet in Big Meadows main parking lot near restrooms at the back of the park.
