Nest Box Monitoring at Mosquito Lake - April to August 2026
If you are interested in becoming a nest box monitor, you can join and help out one of the existing groups. We meet once a week, but its very flexible. If you can only come when your schedule allows, thats ok too. Come meet Bluebirds, Tree Swallows and Purple Martins up close and personal!

Big Birding Weekend at Mosquito Lake State Park - May 15, 16 and 17
Lots of birding activities to take advantage of here. See this website for details:

We could use you as a volunteer, monitoring the YBC display, helping to lead a bird hike, or helping at the kids activities. Just let us know! If nothing else, you should plan to attend the Sunday (5/17) bird hike at Shenango Wildlife Area. Several professional birders will be on hand for you to meet. We always see lots of birds. Virginia Rails are frequently seen and heard! See the attached flyer below.

Join us for a full day of celebrating Ohio’s incredible biodiversity and rich conservation history as part of the America 250 celebrations! This flagship BioBlitz event invites nature lovers of all ages to help us discover, identify, and record as many species as possible across Mosquito Lake State Park in just one day.
Come join in the fun or volunteer to help lead a group. We can always use extra hands.
