First Meeting & Field Trip
Black Swamp Bird Observatory Nature Center
Magee March Bird Trail

May 21, 2006

On Sunday, May 21, 2006, the Ohio Young Birders Club (OYBC) became official!  There are still some details to work out, but we're off to a great start. And how cool is it that we saw a Kirtland's Warbler at the bird trail before the start of our  very first meeting?!  It was an omen of the great things to come!

We made some important decisions during our initial meeting, the first of which was choosing our club name.   We also worked out things like membership dues and the age range for joining the club,  as well as selecting a bird for our logo! The OYBC proudly declares the Golden-winged Warbler,  our logo bird!

We are now:
¿ Ohio Young Birders Club
¿ Age range for eligibility is 12 - 19
¿ Membership dues will be $5.00 per year
¿ Adults may join as supporting members for $10.00

The club will be sponsored by the Black Swamp Bird Observatory with support from the Kirtland Bird Club and many other birding and con-servation organizations.
